You didn't read Gails post? She's passing on that we'd like another viable option of payment.. I'm REALLY hoping that we'll get better payment options the moment they are viable. Guessing security concerns are what's stopping it atm.

Don't JUST add paypal, add debit cards such as Maestro, Switch and Solo. As I for one hate paypal, i'd prefer to use my debit card straight off, less delays and more time sufficient.

The shop is PlayNC? What a shame.
It's damn annoying that you need to open a PlayNC account. The PlayNC site is a horror, and I've studiously avoided it in the past because it's so damn insecure, buggy and confused. Well, to be honest I did try to pre-order factions on PlayNC, but thankfully, and characteristically, it bugged during my order so I ended up getting it from a real webshop instead.
I'd have felt much better about paying to ANet, via ANet software. ANet I trust, PlayNC I trust to fark up.
And, true to PlayNC form, the shop has so far twice Error #42'd during the transaction, so as of yet I've been unable to buy any new slots.
(Possibly the site gets confused by my uber-exclusive and rare Amex Blue card)

from my experience of a game that also had those types of cards that you could purchase, some people ended up selling them in game to people without credit cards for gold and items >.> but that was mainly because they sold the cards in only 2 countries despite the game being worldwide.

There is no indication that they will have such things in the store and the only reason character slots are being sold is because a large portion of the community, myself included, asked or it.
Its just A-Net giving us what we want, and your complaining about this because you can't find anythiong else to moan about.

So you need a PlayNC Account to get extra Character Slots? And after that, what happens then? Because you log in with your Guild Wars account.

when you log in and go to the store, you will be asked for your play nc account. if you dont have one you can create one. its extremely easy to do.
when you create the play nc account, the account you create is linked to you guild wars account and you still log into gw as normal.
this makes sence , you create the play nc account, buy your upgrade or new game and instantly its associated with you current existing gw account so that whatever you purchased is already linked to gw.

I keep getting the 042 error when I try and purchase, I'm assuming that's 'cause of the large amount of people using the store. Eh, I'll try again later.

Ah, ok. But I still have a problem, everytime I try to get into the Store it's trying to connect for 2-5 minutes, sometimes it sais it's interrupting because it takes too long and otherwise it sais try again in a few minutes.

I haven't been able to connect to the store either. It just hangs on connecting. Then afterwards, I can't connect to the game. I have to shut down GW and then start it again in order to connect. That only happens if I try to connect to the store first.

I found all my connection errors (042 in particular) went away when I enabled port 80 (TCP) to forward on my router. Before I just had 6112.

Ow, I got to the place where he asks about the PlayNC Account. But is it really true you can only pay by CC?

I asked some friends, and they told me that port 80 is most commonly used by spyware. Code 042 must be a firewall blocking the datastream from the shop.
I personally leave it that way. Fine by me
